Terms & Conditions

The following conditions apply to all rental contracts and services of Global Car Connection GmbH.

1. Acceptance of contractual terms

The customer acknowledges the rental terms including any deductible, exclusions of liability limitations and insurance conditions in full. The provisions have been discussed in detail. A copy of these Terms has been handed to the customer or made available electronically. Amendments require written form.

2. Rental period / Vehicle condition / Rental price

Global Car Connection GmbH provides the customer with a roadworthy, clean and technically flawless vehicle, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The rental period begins upon handover and ends with proper return at the agreed location. If the vehicle is returned early, the full rental price for the originally agreed period remains due.

In the event of damage attributable to the customer, the rental period is extended until the repair is completed or until the replacement period determined by an expert expires. In the event of a total loss, at least 14 calendar days. Lubricants, fuel, cleaning costs and any transport costs are borne exclusively by the customer.

The rental price and any deposits are due in advance upon conclusion of the contract unless a different payment term has been agreed in writing. In the event of cancellation after a binding booking, Global Car Connection GmbH is entitled to claim 60% of the agreed rental price (excluding logistics) as lump-sum compensation. In addition, any transport costs already incurred or initiated are to be borne in full by the customer. The customer may provide evidence of a lesser loss.

3. Customer obligations / Use of the vehicle

The customer undertakes to treat the vehicle with care and to comply with all statutory provisions. Use is prohibited for:

  • Motorsport events
  • Test and proving grounds without written consent
  • Off-road operations without prior approval

Trips with increased wear risk (e.g. test drives) entail full liability. This applies in particular to damage to tires, brakes, clutch or damage resulting from technical modifications, disassembly or improper handling.

The customer is fully responsible for ensuring that all drivers hold a valid driving license and have the required personal suitability. Drivers are deemed vicarious agents of the customer. The customer is also liable for any damage caused by them, including ancillary costs such as expert fees, towing and downtime costs as well as depreciation.

4. Maintenance and repairs

Maintenance appointments must be actively monitored by the customer and reported to Global Car Connection GmbH by email. Maintenance is carried out exclusively by authorized workshops and only with prior approval. Only necessary immediate repairs up to EUR 75 may be initiated independently – anything beyond requires written approval. Reimbursement is granted only upon presentation of original receipts and only if the customer is not at fault (see sections 3 and 6).

5. Conduct in the event of accidents and damage

The customer must notify the police immediately in the event of any accident, even without third-party involvement, and must inform Global Car Connection GmbH without delay. A written accident report must be submitted at the latest upon return and must include information on involved persons, vehicles, witnesses and the course of events. Claims by third parties must not be acknowledged under any circumstances.

6. Return / Liability

The vehicle must be returned at the agreed time and place, fully refueled and in its original condition. Returns at different locations incur additional return costs at the customer's expense.

Liability: The customer is liable for all damage caused during the rental period – including damage discovered upon return. If comprehensive or partial insurance is agreed, liability is limited to the contractually agreed deductible provided no exclusion applies.

Not covered by insurance:

  • Brake, operational and breakage damage
  • Damage caused by incorrect operation, shifting errors, misfueling
  • Damage caused by glass breakage, wildlife, theft, fire, natural events without partial coverage
  • Use of non-approved vehicles (full liability by the customer)

Unlimited liability applies in particular in cases of:

  • Hit-and-run, intent, gross negligence
  • Violation of sections 3, 4, 5 of these Terms
  • Events aimed at achieving maximum speeds
  • Damage from off-road driving or installing measuring and test equipment
  • All fees, fines, tolls, etc. for which Global Car Connection GmbH is held liable

Processing fee: A flat fee of EUR 29.00 is charged for administrative work related to legal violations. The customer may provide evidence of a lower expense.

7. Termination

Global Car Connection GmbH is entitled to terminate the rental agreement without notice if continuation is unreasonable, e.g. due to incorrect information regarding the intended use. Claims for damages remain unaffected.

8. Miscellaneous / Jurisdiction

  • German law applies to all disputes. Place of performance and jurisdiction is the registered office of Global Car Connection GmbH.
  • Amendments and additions to this agreement must be made in writing.
  • There are no verbal side agreements.
  • Global Car Connection GmbH does not participate in dispute resolution proceedings before consumer arbitration boards.
  • The contract language is German. Any foreign-language versions serve convenience only. In case of doubt, the German version prevails.
  • If individual provisions are invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
